Is the NLINK barcode solution fully compatible with SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA?

Yes. The solution fully supports SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

How does the barcode system handle real-time data syncing with SAP?

The NLINK barcode system uses SAP BAPIs and RFCs to post synchronously to the SAP system. Thus, results are real-time and the latest operational data is always available to all SAP users.

What modules within SAP can the barcoding solution integrate with?

All of them!

What are the technical requirements for SAP integration?

An NLINK installation on a physical or virtual machine, including Microsoft IIS, for serving the HTML5 pages to the barcode scanning devices. Wi-Fi access between the barcode scanning devices and the network where NLINK is installed. Network access between the NLINK machine and the SAP system. SAP User IDs and authorizations for each user that will perform any mobile transactions (just as if they were to do the transactions manually in SAPGUI).

Does the solution support SAP’s cloud deployments?

Yes, the solution supports SAP S/4HANA Cloud that is deployed and managed in SAP’s cloud and of course the solution also supports private cloud deployments of SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA..

What security measures are in place for data exchange with SAP?

The same SAP User IDs that allow access to SAPGUI are used for authentication on the devices, with the same login process. SAP’s internal authorization structure is very robust and can be as granular as desired. Data passed between the barcode scanners and the NLINK software can be secured with digital certificates, and data exchanged between SAP and the NLINK software can be secured using a variety of methods, the choice of which will depend upon your specific network topology.

How customizable is the barcoding solution with SAP?

The barcoding solution is completely separate from SAP. If you have customized your SAP transactions, and done it correctly, then the standard BAPIs will pick up the customer enhancements as a matter of course. The screens themselves are fully controlled by the NLINK software and can be customized as desired. In on-premise SAP systems, the NLINK server is able to call any standard or customized remote-enabled BAPI or RFC, and query any standard or customized Table or View. In S/4HANA Cloud, the NLINK server is able to call any standard or customized exposed OData or Web Service APIs.
